RURUVAI VILLAGE

Ruruvai Village

Ruruvai is a Seventh-day Adventist village on South Choisuel.  The village is on a small island of Ruruvai.  The island itself is just adjacent to the mainland of Choiseul and it is separated by a narrow channel.  There are numerous streams of water that dot around the this island.

The island of Ruruvai has a very important history for the early work of Sevent-day Adventist church in Choiseul (Lauru) island.  The island even hosted Missionaries from Australia during the early work of Seventh-Adventist church in Solomon Islands.  During the subsequest years the island had hosted the highest primary school for the whole island of choiseul for years.  Even a District Pastor had been posted in the island for years.  Therefore, the island is a historical island for the work of Seventh-day Adventist church.

Now the island is a main village for the locals who move from the Keala village. Keala is a Seventh-day Adventist village on the island of Keala.  The island is just about 5 km off the island of Ruruvai and about 10 km off the mainland of Choiseul.
