Layman Lindsay Galo Sisiolo at Burukuni village requested Lauru Supporting Ministry to get new bibles to help him in his mission work. Lindsay shared his desire with his Supervisor at Ngazakeo village, Pastor Barry Hivae.  Pastor Barry Hivae agreed encouraged Lindsay to get the bibles through Lauru Supporting Ministry.  As a result we activated the Bible Project - Top End Lauru on Monday, 21 April 2014. The aim of the Bible Project - Top End Lauru is to get 1,000 new Bibles for distribution in the varese district, north-east & north-west, of Lauru Island.   We have consulted senior Seventh-day Adventist Pastor David Tasker (Ministerial & Field Secretary) at the South Pacific Division of SDA, and Pastor Lawrence Tanabose (retired Pastor) for their advice on the modern translation that may be easy to read. Both Pastors recommended the New King James Version (NKJV), even though they are not part of the project team.

FORMAL REQUEST

The Minister Barry Hivae at Ngazakeo approves this project. As a result Layman Lindsay Galo Sisiolo signed a letter and emailed to the Solomon Islands Mission (SIM) of Seventh-day Adventist Church (General Secretary) in order to get approval of SIM on the request.  The letter was copied to Lauru Supporting Ministry.  It was a great news to get SIM's approval/authorisation of the request for the bibles.  SIM will not provide financial assistance on the project.  However, SIM only provided administrative approval on the project because the bible project has been requested by the Layman who has been under the management of SIM. In addition, we offer to look for donors who may help to donate equipment for the new Aid post clinic at Oliveti village.

This project is now on the final phase. We do not require money for the project now. Lauru Supporting Ministry is manage to get all the money it needs for the project, with God's help.  If you want to either involve or know more about the Clinic Equipment & Bible Project - Top End Lauru, contact us for more information. Latest updates are also on our regular news page.
