The program was discussed and organized by the combined board meeting held at Katurasele. This mean that churches around upperChoiseul area were informed of Pr Lawrence arrival. The District minister and the Regional director were also informed about the program.
When I get home, the Katurasele church members had another meeting on Saturday night of the week Pr Lawrence arrived. The head elder Romio Laeva convened the meeting. The agenda’s of the meeting includes welcome songs, feeding, collection of foods, present and etc… In that meeting the church were informed of topics Pr Lawrence is going to presenting on the weekend. They were also informed of the fundraising you have made for Katurasele Church building and the Church bank account.
Pr Caleb Ripo and Kenneth’s family accompany Pr Lawrence family to Katurasele. A little welcome ceremony was made before vesper meeting begins in the church. We arranged few students to greet Pastor with flowers followed by welcome song from our church choir at Katurasele. A welcome speech was made. The church elder Willie Katovai and deacon George Majala had the privilege to assist the SPD General Secretary on the first meeting.
After the first meeting the church elders and deacons from Taro to Loloko sat back to arranged for the coming meetings. All the deacons and elders assist Pr Lawrence in all the meetings.
The Katurasele Church choir led by Moses Lala and Neson lumkana have sung four songs in the meetings. We also have some small groups singing. Pr Lawrence presenting our Lauru songs on slides and we all sang them at beginning of all the meetings on Sunday.
We had three meetings on Saturday apart from Sabbath school and Adventist Youth(AY) which Pr Lawrence is also taking. We had a social night in front of the New Church building by Pr Lawrence. We had three meetings on Sunday at 8 am, 2 pm and 4 pm. We had a presentation of gift on Sunday night by Church elders followed by social program from Pr Lawrence and we closed.
Pr Lawrence returns to Tagibangara early morning on Monday.
Every one from Taro to Loloko were involved in those meetings and were Spiritually high on that weekend. Pray that the message Pr Lawrence is presenting lingers and make changes to lives of our people at home. In fact the Topics on the presentations was timely and addressing the current problem facing our people at home. Allowance was given by Pr Lawrence to ask questions or any one with specific problem can see him privately. A lot have asked questions concerning backslidings, censorship, delegations of church responsibilities etc. it is exciting to note that Pr Lawrence have address those questions (mainly Islanders questions) in the new Church manual which Pr Lawrence said will soon print out this year.
