The photo shows the Nuatambu dry land (sand) where the boys stood  in 1999. The same site was a dry land where villagers built houses. Unfortunately, the site has been eroded by the effects of rising sea level over the years, as shown on the photo of Nuatambu on the main Nuatambu web page on this website. Now, the sea covers the area. Outboard motors are able to travel across the same site.
