TARO SDA COMPANY CHURCH

Taro company church comprises mainly of members within the Taro Island and Choiseul Bay mainland. There are few members who live in the nearby villages who come to Taro church for worship each Sabbath. Patients who are admitted to the Taro Hospital also attend the Taro Church while on admission to the Hospital.

The Taro Seventh-Day Adventist(SDA) Company Church  is near the Taro Hospital at Taro Island, Choiseul Island in Solomon Islands.  In 2002 the SDA church members usually worshipped under trees at the Taro airpstrip every Sabbath.  Therefore, the Sabbath worships were determined by weather on each day.  As a result the SDA members at Taro collaborated with the Upper Choiseul SDA churches to build a new church building at Taro.  The SDA local churches of Koa, Kinoso, Katurasele, Tuno'e and Ghazakeo villages agreed to help in building the church.  Villagers came on several OBM & Canoes.  The local church at Kinoso came with seven(7) chainsaws to use on the building program too.  The teams also came with women who were cooks for the group.

The teams arrived on Monday and started to work on the church on arrival.  They worked both during the day and late into the night using pressure lamp.  Villagers brought most of the building materials with them to Taro but some materials where sourced at Solovai village and from the nearby Zupizae island.  It took the villagers three(3) days to build the church.

The project demostrated the partnership between GOD and the Upper Choiseul SDA churches.  There were evidences of GOd's blessings throughout the plainning and implementation phases of the project. Some families who involved in the building of Buala SDA church witnessed God's leading again on the Taro church building project.  Glory to God.
